Luddite, Saboteur White Blend 2023

Niels & Penny Verburg are highschool sweethearts who began making wine together in 1995. Today, they have 16ha of vineyard space in South Africa's Bot River region. Making authentic cool-climate wines with a fun-loving attitude has turned Luddite into one of the most followed & revered cult wineries in South Africa. Saboteur White Blend 2023 is made from a blend of 77% Chenin Blanc, 13% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Viognier. The Chenin & Viognier is fermented on skins for 12 days to increase texture & complexity, before all three varieties are mixed and aged in oak for 7 months prior to bottling. The nose is intense with floral sweet fruit, honey, peach and almonds. The palate is rich with subtle tannins and pithiness from skin contact and further flavours of white peach, honey blossoms with a salty and herbaceous finish. A seriously refreshing, fruity white and one we can't get enough of.
